INDIVIDUAL Therapy
Most people don’t come to individual therapy because something is “wrong” with them. They come because they’re tired — tired of feeling anxious or overwhelmed, tired of repeating the same habits or thought patterns, or tired of carrying more than they ever expected to.
Individual therapy is a place to slow things down and understand what’s really happening — emotionally, relationally, and physically — so change doesn’t feel forced or shaming. My approach is curious, practical, and grounded. We focus less on fixing you and more on understanding what’s underneath what’s been keeping you stuck.
I work with adults navigating many stages of life, including career transitions, parenting, uncoupling or divorce, dating again in mid-life, and caring for aging parents. Many of the people I work with are juggling multiple roles at once, and the weight of that can quietly build over time.
I also work with many Gen X women who are experiencing mood shifts, anxiety or panic that seems to come out of nowhere, depression, or changes in how they feel in their bodies. For many, these experiences are connected to perimenopause and the emotional and relational shifts that often accompany it. Therapy can offer space to make sense of these changes and respond with more understanding and self-compassion.
Rather than focusing only on stopping behaviors, I help clients understand the needs beneath them — and explore safer, more sustainable ways to respond. Humor and real conversations are welcome here, especially when we’re talking about hard things.
I provide LGBTQ+ affirming individual therapy and welcome diverse identities and lived experiences. You don’t need a polished story or the “right” words to begin — just a willingness to be curious about what’s happening and what you want to change.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start, individual therapy can offer a supportive space to find steadier footing and move forward with intention.
Some clients begin with individual therapy, while others benefit from couples therapy or couples therapy for one partner.
I am an EMDR Trained Clinician and often incorporate this into our work together. Learn more about EMDR therapy.
